Invaluable in saving me hours
I am reasonably confident in scripting a wheelchair. However, I recently had a patient in a rural location requiring an all-terrain wheelchair. Not something I had scripted before. One zoom call with Justin and he was able to suggest 3 different models of chair. The pros and cons of each chair along with suppliers in the local area for the client. This was really invaluable in saving me hours looking up chairs, reading the specs and comparing them, or calling different companies etc to discuss. After the call, Justin followed up with a written summary of what we had discussed. This saved me time on writing notes!! Really worth connecting with Justin, he has a wealth of knowledge. Thankyou!

I recently completed the self-paced Wheelieworx Seating Simplified course, and it was instrumental in improving my knowledge and confidence as a mid-career OT looking to dive a bit deeper into complex wheelchair prescription. I signed up as I felt like even though I had attended countless trainings, I was missing the basic foundations and principles to address the needs of more complex clients. The course is so comprehensive, and I realised pretty quickly that it was going to help my clinical reasoning across a range of clients with basic and complex needs. Justin has included step by step guides to address a variety of different presentations, and so many elements of seating and the course has given me the confidence to put together a wheelchair that I know will meet the needs of my client. In the NDIS space, and as a rural OT, this is invaluable. I don’t have the time, resources, or consistent clinical support to ensure I can trial the perfect wheelchair, but I do know that by going through the steps in this course, I will have the right foundation for any recommendation I make. Before the program I felt like I was so reliant on suppliers and technicians to guide me in the right direction and now I feel comfortable going into trials and asking for what I want and also knowing whether it works or not – and if it doesn’t, how to adjust it. I would highly recommend the course to anyone, regardless of their level of your level of experience, I think there is plenty to learn!

Where do I even start? As a new grad, Justin and his Seating Simplified course have provided invaluable information on wheelchairs and seating. The content is well-structured and easy to follow in both written and video formats, with visuals that support learning. I love that the course is divided into specific sections that aren’t too overloaded, meaning I can easily return to particular areas to consolidate my understanding. I can also review the a section prior to a review/trial so I don’t miss anything. Justin designed the course to give you a clear framework for wheelchair prescription, taking you from the initial referral and initial meeting through to trials and delivery. I’ve also had many one-on-one meetings with Justin to discuss different situations, where he provided wheelchair recommendations and explained the pros and cons of each option. Not to mention, there are many downloadable PDFs available for use. I can’t recommend this course enough!

I am a senior OT working as a generalist. I have only been piecing information and experience via working with ATPs and clients throughout the years which works in most cases but I wanted to be better so this course gave me the confidence. WOW what a course! For a quick background, I have been a community OT in complex paediatrics for a number of years and have transitioned to a role as an Assistive technology professional (ATP). As such, I have an in depth knowledge of seating assessment, clinical reasoning, trials, etc... After completing this course my knowledge base has expanded so much more. My favourite parts were definitely about pressure injuries and prevention, overview of different types of cushions, and types of supports. There is of course so much more, ranging from manual wheelchairs, power assist and power wheelchairs too! Justin does an amazing job at not just explaining what they are but how to set supports up, which is often more important than the support itself. Justin also has an amazing way of simplifying topics. See if you can find someone who can tell you the difference between immersion and envelopment....I bet you can't. Even if you have minimal experience with Assistive technology, after this course you will be able to confidently assess, prescribe and review any set-up you come up against. For those hesitant about this course. Don't be. Pull the trigger and you will see your knowledge base explode, and not only will you benefit, but so will the clients and families you are working with.

I highly recommend this course if you want to know the ins and outs of wheelchair prescription and education. I have done a number of wheelchair courses over the years and you can tell this was designed by an OT who lives and breathes wheelchairs. It was so practical to the real world (other courses can feel very theoretical and hard to apply). If you're on the fence about this course and don't know if you should climb back down or jump over, it's the one time I'd say jump! It has everything from questions to ask your supplier; best ways to provide education to your client for optimal outcomes; to clinical benefits that help advocate for your client in report writing.

I can’t recommend this course enough! As an OT working in the NDIS space, wheelchairs and complex seating can sometimes feel daunting and overwhelming, but this course breaks everything down in a really clear, practical way. The content is incredibly comprehensive and covers the entire wheelchair prescription process, from assessment and clinical reasoning through to set-up, delivery, and troubleshooting. I’ve really loved how the course balances theory with practical application, which makes it easy to translate the learning directly into day-to-day practice. What sets this course apart is how Justin simplifies concepts and shares insights from real clinical experience. The ability to revisit modules and resources whenever needed is also a huge benefit. Since starting the course, I’ve already found myself applying what I’ve learned in assessments and trials, which is boosted my confidence when working with suppliers and recommending equipment for clients.
